Polysorbate 20(For Injection)

Excipients for Injection

Polysorbate 20 is a polysorbate-type nonionic surfactant used in many commercial, household and pharmaceutical products. It is composed of 20 repeated units of polyethylene glycol via ethoxylation. Polysorbate 20 is a wetting agent in food products, as well as washing agent, stabilizer and solubilizer in labratory assays and industrial applications. It is also an excipient that stabilizes emulsions and suspensions in pharmaceutical products and lubricant in ophthalmic solutions.

Product Description

CAS number: 9005-64-5

Pharmacopoeia specification compliance: USP/EP/ChP

Storage: In an airtight container, protected from light.

Properties and Benefits

l Comply with the specifications of the current EP and USP.

l With the precise polymerization technology and high-efficiency directional esterification technology, the composition is stable and the batch-to-batch variability is reduced.

l Compared with non-injectable grade, the acid value, peroxide value and water content are even lower.

l Compared with non-injection grade, it significantly improves safety and reduces the incidence of allergic reactions (see the figure below).

Applications

l Nonionic surfactants, solubilizers, wetting agents.

l Widely used as an emulsifier for oil-in-water pharmaceutical emulsions.
